Redcom is bringing SIP VoIP to the war-front. While SIP makes easier for different providers to interoperate with their respective technology, it is still a good idea to do interoperability testing. When you are adding new communications capabilities that will be used in combat situations, though, its mission critical that you test interoperability.
Redcom just completed checking SIP interoperability between the Harris AN/PRC-117G Radios and SIP-based REDCOM SLICE and SLICE 2100 systems. The Harris Radios provide streaming video, simultaneous voice and data feeds, collaborative chat, and connectivity to secure networks on the battlefield.
With Redcom’s SIP SLICE and TRANSip, soldiers can take advantage secure tactical and strategic VoIP whether they are on the battlefield or at the Pentagon. The suite converges a broad range of technologies for maximum interoperability in both tactical and strategic networks.
